SAUCONY - Back! Finally!

My first running shoe was a Saucony. And this was way back in the early 80's when other shoe brands were busy focusing on developing basketball shoes. I don't know what happened but Saucony suddenly disappeared from the local market.

Fast forward to 2009 when I started joining fun runs. I saw a few people wearing the shoe with the "S" and 3 dots logo. Sadly the shoe can only be bought overseas.

But today, SAUCONY is back in the Philippines!!! Finally!!!

Saucony’s new line of performance running gear
is finally in the Philippines

The long wait is over! Global athletic brand, Saucony, is finally here in the Philippines to power up the running experience of Filipino athletes and runners with its latest line of innovative footgear.

Filipino runners used to get their pair of Saucony shoes from the United States. But with the arrival of this industry giant to the country, they can now easily lace up a pair of Saucony shoes and further understand why athletes and hard core runners from all over the world are raving about it.

In fact, some of the world’s best athletes such as professional American sprinter Porscha Lucas, 2008 U.S. Olympian Magda Lewy Boulet, top US road-racer Jason Lehmkuhle, and Olympic athlete and two-time World Championships gold medalist Wallace Spearmon, recognize the positive impact of Saucony shoes in their respective fields of sports.

“As we bring this global brand into the Philippines, we encourage our runners to try out our new products and experience maximum performance and efficiency in running.” according to Quenie Ganancial, Concession Coordinator of Saucony.

Saucony is recognized for combining performance, innovation and style in all its array of technical footgear for running, trail running and racing.

For technical running, Saucony introduces the ProGrid Kinvara 2 and Hattori – both are minimally constructed, lightweight and responsive for enhanced movement.

ProGrid Kinvara 2 features a 4mm heel-to-toe drop that encourages more of a mid-foot strike and is made of light and breathable mono mesh material for a comfortable sock-like fit and support. The Kinvara was awarded “Best Debut” by Runner’s World Magazine.

On the other hand, Hattori mimics the barefoot running feel but with just the right amount of protection from the elements of the road. It features a 0 mm heel-to-toe drop allowing runners to take a more balanced running form.

For trail running, there is Saucony ProGrid Peregrine, which has won the coveted “Editor’s Choice” award also by Runner’s World magazine.  It allows runners to not only run the trail, but connect with it, thanks to its ultra-flexible, low-rider profile.

For runners who tend to over pronate, Saucony offers ProGrid Omni 10 - a stability shoe that helps lock the foot into the platform, thereby, providing excellent support for a more controlled and stable transition.

Saucony running shoes come in vibrant colors that echo the vim and vigor of zealous runners.

As Saucony debuts in the Philippines, it is launching a new brand campaign, “We know … Because we run.” This campaign celebrates Saucony’s authenticity and emotional connection with runners everywhere by capturing the defining moments of the running community.

By creating the best shoes and gear on the planet, Saucony strives to inspire every runner, on every run, on everyday.

To test and experience the innovative technology of Saucony’s latest footgear, visit RUNNR in Bonifacio Global City and Trinoma; and Riovana in Bonifacio High Street and Katipunan. Saucony is also available in SM Department Stores: Fairview, Makati and soon to open in Manila and North EDSA
